![]() Library officials continue adding to the list of participating venues. The program has been popular since its inception four years ago. There are waiting lists for some of the venues. ![]() Anyone with a library card may request a pass. It ranges from one child age 10 or younger at Big Cat Rescue, to two adults and three children under 18 at the Florida Holocaust Museum. The number of free admissions included with each receipt varies, depending on the venue. The receipts, which serve as free "tickets," are good for seven days after they are printed. Once patrons sign up and a pass is available, they can pick up confirmation receipts at any library branch. You can check availability from a remote location or on a computer at your local Hillsborough County library. Venues such as Glazer Children's Museum, Tampa Bay History Center, and Stageworks Theatre are among the participants. The HCPLC's popular Discovery Pass is your free ticket to exploring about a dozen local museums and attractions. The Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative can help. i use a tagging and library management system that sorts by period, region, dynasty, personages, subject, battles, events, primary sources, tertiary sources, etc- all at the same time, which is provided by the academic institution I work for - so it's much easier to reference between books when it's all in one place.Looking for something fun and educational to do? With that much referring between different books, it's difficult to use multiple apps. I read 99.9% historical non-fiction, and my "pleasure" reading is print (though I very much find pleasure in research, so that's a bit of a misnomer). I prefer less cartoony, more traditional layouts- but it's also a huge part about the mp3 ability as well. I suspect i prefer the layout for Overdrive bc i work in historical research, and it mimics a lot of the digitised research infrastructure i use. Am I missing something here? I'm genuinely curious, bc i have posted about it before. I get the same features for both across all my Android tablets - my Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7, and even my Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite variously running Android 11 to 13. I know a lot of people love Libby, so I have wondered if it has something to do with devices/OS. To give you an example, here's how searching on Libby vs Overdrive looks, from genre to subgenre: the last three images are Libby's loan page, home page, and a genre search The several beginning images are the same except Overdrive, and you can see there's almost 5x as many subgenre searches results (and I got lazy and only screenshot some of them for this).Įven the way that Libby connects to multiple libraries is less intuitive for me- i can switch between any with just a click, and search all of them at once with Overdrive. Libby is basically a blank page with cartoonish covers and extremely minimal search options - but i also use Android so maybe there's a difference? Particularly when it comes to sub genres searching and inter-institution/ interlibrary lending of digital copies, and navigational intuitiveness. Weird- i have a much more feature rich experience with overdrive.
